1. Our Little Sister



What’s It About: . Based off the manga series, UMIMACHI DIARY by Akimi Yoshida. Three sisters, Sachi, Yoshino and Chika Kouda all live with their grandparents in Kamakura. Their parents are divorced. One day the sisters receive notice that their father has passed away. They have not seen their father in 15 years. The three sister’s agree to attend their father’s funeral. At the funeral, the sisters meet their 14-year-old half-sister, Suzu Asano. Suzu lives with her step-mother and stepbrother. Bonding quickly with Suzu, Sachi invites Suzu to live with them. She agrees and a new life of joyful discoveries begins for the four siblings.

2. A Girl Missing



What’s It About: Ichiko works as a home care nurse for the Oishi family. She is treated like a full family member. Besides helping the bedridden grandmother, Ichiko also helps the two daughters, Motoko and Saki with their exams in her free time. One day, Saki is abducted. When Saki is returned home safely, the abductor turns out to be Ichiko’s nephew. Media frenzy drives Ichiko into isolation. Motoko, once close to Ichiko and a confidant, denounces her publicly and reveals Ichiko’s family secrets. Ichiko is forced to quit her job and develops a desire for revenge.

3. Harmonium



What’s It About: Toshio, his wife, Akie and daughter Hotaru live a quiet life. Toshio operates a machine shop in his garage. One day an old aquaintance shows up to Toshio’s house. Yasaka has just been released from prison and Toshio decides to take him as an assistant. Yasaka bonds with Hotaru and helps her around the house. He tells Akie that he was just released from prison for eleven years for a murder. He asks for forgiveness and slowly becomes a part of the family. Akie and Yasaka develops feelings for each other. Toshio becomes suspicious when the family goes on a river trip. When they return home, Toshio discovers Hotaru is injured and unresponsive with Yasaka standning over her. Yasaka tries to talk to Toshio but to no avail. Yasaka soon disappears. Eight years later, Toshio takes on a new assistant. Is the past doomed to repeat itself?

4. Norwegian Wood



What’s It About: Toru Wantanabe is a quiet and serious young man in the 1960’s Tokyo. He has recently lost his best friend Kizuki due to suicide. During a walk in the park, Toru meets Kizuki’s ex-girlfriend, Naoko. The two grow close. Naoko has a hard time dealing with Kizuki’s passing and soon spirals into depression. She decides to withdraw from the world and enter a sanitarium in the forest of Kyoto. Toru is anguished by her decision. He continues his studies and in the spring meets Midori. She is outgoing, vivacious, and very self-confident. Toru becomes torn between the two women. He must choose between his past and his future.
