What’s It About: Based on the true story of 23 Korean missionaries that were taken hostage by the Taliban in 2007. The Taliban wants the South Korean forces to withdraw early. The South Korean government is hesitant to negotiate with terrorists. They are forced to dispatch a National Intelligence Service agent, Dae Sik. He’s being sent into the war zone to negotiate under dangerous circumstances.

What’s It About: Han Shin-Sung is an ambassador from South Korean currently living in Somalia due to his job. Soon a civil war breaks out in the country. Shin-Sung finds himself along with his family trapped inside of the embassy. Later in the night, Shin-Sung recieves a knock on his door. It is a diplomat from North Korea asking for his help to escape the country. Both diplomats have the goal in mind…to escape from Mogadishu. Based off the real-life events that took place in 1991.

What’s It About: Park Pyung-Ho and Kim Jung-Do are both National Security agents in South Korea. It’s the 80’s and the tension between political and the military are rising. The two are currently in Washington D.C. protecting the president. While on patrol, the CIA informs them that have noticed a kill team and dispatches them to stop the situation. Afterwards, they are informed there is a North Korean mole within the company. The two chase after the mole after it is revealed he wants to assassinate the South Korean president. While in South Korean, truths and secrets start to come to the surface.

What’s It About: Ha Chae-Yoon is a hostage negotiator. She is at odds with her job due to a bad situation from ten years ago and she is ready to leave. On her final days, her boss assigns her to a case involving Min Tae-Gu. He is an international arms dealer. He has kidnapped several Korean nationals in Bangkok. Over the next 21 hours, Chae-Yoon must face off against Tae-Gu and force him to reveal his motivations.

5. The Spy Gone North

What’s It About: In the 90’s, reports are coming out about North Korea developing nuclear weapons. Park Suk-Young is a former military officer and gets recruited by the National Intelligence Serivce. He is ordered to go and infiltrate the North Korean ranks and learn as much as he can about the program. Suk-Young is given the code name “Black Venus”. During the 1998 presidential election, Suk-Young discovers a disturbing secret. He discovers his own side is manipulating the country’s election with help from North Korea.
