She started her film career in action and martial arts film, including ones where she did her own stunts. Recently, she is a Screen Actors Guild winner and winner of Golden Globes for Best Actress for Everything Everywhere All At Once, where she plays an unlikely hero that has to use her newfound powers to fight bizzarre dangers from the multiverse as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

2. Son Ye-Jin

Who Is She?: Star of the hit series Crash Landing On You, which was ranked as the thrid highest rated Korean drama in cable television history. The series is about a South Korean heiress that gets into a paragliding mishap and ends up in North Korea. An army officer decides to help her get back to her home. Son Ye-Jin started her career in the 2001 series, Delicious Proposal; a series about which Chinese restaurant serves the best food in the neighborhood. Son Ye-Jin was given the title of “Nation’s First Love” in Korea due to her innocent image. She has won numerous awards for her acting including the prestigious Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Actress for her role in My Wife Got Married; a movie about a married woman that seeks a second husband.

3. Yu Aoi

Who Is She?: Yu Aoi is an actress and model. She got her start in the 2001 film All About Lily Chou-Chou. She has won numerous awards including the Japanese Academy Prize for Best Supporting Actress for Hula Girls, a comedy/drama about a small Japanese coal-mining town that decides to create a Hawaiian center tourist attraction. Her latest movie is Wife Of A Spy, she plays a dedicated housewife that suspects her husband is up to something. She soon gets drawn into an enigmatic match of cat and mouse.

4. Gong Li

Who Is She?: Gong Li has starred in three out of four Chinese-language films that have been nominated for Academy Awards for Best International Feature Films, including Farewell My Concubine, and Ju-Dou. Soon after Ju-Dou, Gong Li starred in the fantastic movie Raise The Red Lantern, the story of a poor girl that becomes the third concubine of a wealthy merchant. Over the course of her career Gong Li has won three Hundred Flowers Awards, a Hong Kong Film Award and honorary awards at the Berlin and Cannes Film Festivals. She was chosen by director Zhang Yimou in her first film, Red Sorghum, a movie about a young woman’s life working in a distillery for soghum liquor. They have made 8 films together including Ju-Dou, and The Story of Qiu Ju.

5. Park Min-Young

Who Is She?: Park Min-Young rose to fame in her debut series the historical coming-of-age drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. She then went on to star in the hit series City Hunter. In 2018, she was cast in her first romantic drama, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? This series is about the vice-chairman of a company that has his world turned upside down when his highly capable secretary decides to quit one day after working for him for nine years. This lead to her starring several other romantic dramas including Her Private Life, Forecasting Love And Weather and Love In Contract.

6. Hikari Mitsushima

Who Is She?: Hikari Mitsushima is an actress, singer, and model. She began her music careeer as an idol in the J-Group Folder and Folder 5. Her film career started in the 2006 manga-adapted film, Death Note. She has gone on to star in numerous films and television series. She has won the International Drama Festival Award for Best Actress for her role in Woman, a television series about a woman’s struggle raising her family after the sudden loss of her husband. Hikari Mitsushima has also won a Japanese Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress in Kakekomi, a film that follows the lives of women saved by the Tokei-ji Buddhist Temple during the Edo Period. Her newest televiosn series is First Love, a television series about a man and a woman both haunted by their first love…each other.

7. Yang Mi

Who Is She?: Yang Mi is an actress and singer. She got her first acting debut in the historical drama Tang Ming Huang, a series based on historical events during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong during the Tang Dynasty. She has gained recognition for her roles in Wang Zhaojun, Bejing Love Story– a modern romance where she plays a prideful gold digger, and The Witness. Yang Mi won the Best Actress Award at the Worldfest Houston International Festival for her role in Reset; a sc-fi thriller about a scientist that uses a experimential time-travel technology to save her son from being killed. Yang Mi’s latest series is She And Her Perfect Husband, the series is about a laywer that is focused on her career but is forced into marriage by her parents.
